You will need General English to conduct a casual conversation with an English-speaking customer – or perhaps your professor, colleague, recruiter, and others. Introductions, social courtesies and civil discourse are usually conducted with a more informal English conversation. Before you can attend the Business English track, you need to demonstrate proficiency in General English.

The Business English curriculum will teach you how to effectively use the English language when creating sales presentations, conducting business transactions and communications, describing business needs and tasks, preparing business proposals and contracts, shipping and delivering products, getting paid for services, and much more.

As a freelancer or employee, this curriculum will help you better understand the needs of the English-speaking customer. Because there is great demand for Information Technology (IT) services, our Business English curriculum places heavy emphasis on IT terms.

Most English-speaking business professionals who want to be successful in China try to learn as much as possible of the Chinese language, manners, and customs. They know that certain words and actions acceptable in their country may have different connotations in China. The same is true if you are a Chinese freelancer or business person who wishes to do business with English-speaking customers. Communication is an essential business skill and you need to be aware of acceptable words, customs and manners used in international business dealings.

Our Etiquette Course was created to help you become recognized as a courteous, sensitive and respectful professional when meeting with occidental clients in business meetings and social affairs.

In addition to attending our online, self-paced courses, as a registered student you will also have access to our One-on-One Tutoring program. Our Chinese-English speaking instructors are available on both a voluntary and for-hire basis. We developed this flexible option because we understand how a tutor’s assistance can speed up the learning process. It is not uncommon for students to have difficulties with English expressions or a particular lesson and this is when talking to a bi-lingual tutor can make a big difference. By asking the question and listening to the answer in your native language, you will more quickly move on to the next lesson.

One-on-One tutoring is available online and you can choose WHEN and HOW OFTEN to receive this level of instruction based on your schedule and budget. You may find that this type of assistance is highly helpful before you begin attending a formal curriculum, or even after you have completed one.
