Welcome to English for China’s Simulation Center!

Enjoy a total immersion experience that you help you learn by actually doing. That’s right, at the Simulation Center you will be exposed to the current, true world of English language business conversation. You will engage with other students in a very competitive environment, which will help you fine tune your skills and grow your self-confidence level.

How it works
Our instructors log on to our exclusive simulation system and play the role of employers requesting proposals for specific projects. As a registered student, you are invited to participate in the bidding process and compete against other students to win the “simulated contract”. This experience alone will give you the opportunity to put both your language and business skills to the test.

When you choose to bid for a certain project, you will be required to use the EFC.com Knowledge Center, search the Internet, and sometimes interact with other students using the Business Network. Some simulated jobs will require a team of workers to complete the task and you will need to learn how to identify the right team members and together prepare a winning proposal.

At the Knowledge Center you will find numerous articles, white papers, news items, research studies, best practices for contracts, employment agreements, Intellectual Property policies, website links, along with other helpful information you will need to prepare and submit your “simulated” bid responses.

Winner Selection and Cash Awards
Both EFC instructors and students get to review the simulated bid responses and vote for the winners. First, a panel of instructors votes to select a group of student finalists. All students are then invited to review the proposals submitted and vote for the winner explaining why they deserve to win.

In addition to being recognized for your achievement, as a winner you may receive cash and other prizes. You will find this simulation very helpful when bidding for real projects and/or applying for jobs with English-speaking employers. Participation and voting is highly recommended. By reviewing other student’s proposals, you will learn what your competition is all about. When it comes to the global outsourcing market, the competition can be fierce!

Credentials are the single most important thing employers around the globe require when hiring professionals and this is why it is so essential that you start building yours. Evidence that you can comfortably hold a business conversation in the English language is what most global employers expect to see when receiving proposals.

The work you do in our simulation center – whether participating in bids or reviewing other student’s proposals, will serve as the foundation for building your credentials. Being a novice in the global outsourcing market can be challenging because you will be competing with other freelancers that may already have an impressive portfolio. But do not be discouraged. By showing the work done at EFC’s Simulator, including awards and other recognition, the prospect employer is likely to consider your proposal.

Our Simulator exercises were developed in a way they could later serve as the proof you will need to convince anyone who looks at your online EFC Portfolio. Your Portfolio will also allow you to link to actual jobs you’ve completed for English-speaking employers.

For those who are engaged in academic quests and desire to attend English-speaking universities and technical training centers outside China, English for China is your best way to take command of the English language. You will feel reassured and confident when studying abroad.
